Dropping Cles (withdraw)?

I go to stony brook university..i want to drop a cl but its really late during the semester and a 'W' is going to be recorded for the cl..i really don't care bot the 'W' but if i drop that cl the # of credits i'm taking will go down from 14 to 11, which will make me a part time student. Can i still get financial aid even though my status changed to part time?
