Why is quentin tarantino considered such a great filmmaker?

Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on this cos personally I think his films have too much dialogue, violence, gore and unnecessary swearing. (btw I'm all for swearing dont get me wrong but not when its being used for punctuation instead of emphasis)
