I feel like I can't handle much more?
I read all you had to say. I am a christian for 36 years. I have been there; worthless, useless, and 'why can't I be like all those other christians?' I will be brief. The Bible clearly tells us that "it is finished." The life of faith (I came to understand) is to trust when everything says otherwise. It is taking the Word of God on simple, complete trust. Your sins were ALL future when Christ died for you. His atonement is enough. Trust Him, not what you are or are not. Yes, we're weak, and of little faith. But He tells us even the bruised reed He will not break. You are no less loved and forgiven than what you see as the "best" christian out there. Their works and faith gets them no more saved, or no more worthy of God's gifts. They are all sinners saved by grace. Period. Sure, we need to live holy lives by God's grace, but that act of sanctification (setting us apart in holiness) is God's work. Not yours. You are to trust and obey, and leave the rest to the Lord. So try doing as you are told. Pray in Jesus' name, because by that name you have access to God. Then read and "study" the Word. Also serve God in ministry of some sort, ie, where you think you can best serve. For me, it is the nursing home ministry, because God gave me the gift of compion. Stick to the basics! You are wrong about 1 major thought. No, God does not put more on you than you can do. Try thanking Him for the suffering! Remember Job? "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." Also, "In EVERYTHING give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." The tide will turn, and God will be glorified in your trials. The christian walk is all about falling down and getting up, falling down and getting up.....until He calls us home.
