What is the main difference between "Christianity" and Islam when it come to civil unrest?

christianity has a violent past however about 500 years ago the christians stood up to the church leaders and said no more religious wars, no more killing. so the church leaders had to change or go out of business. islam has not done the same. im sure it is going to come but i don't know when!
